The Pope & Wheel of Fortune

I have a simple question for everyone...
Is it just me, or do other people find it creepy and SAD the way the Pope was passed around today? It was just a shell of a body left on the board traveling through the crowd, and while I've never quite understood the open casket thing, this seemed even worse.

I have no problem with gaining closure upon somebody's death and perhaps it's because I'm not Christian, but watching the Pope's dead body being paraded around, uncovered, like some showhorse, almost brought me to tears. It seemed so insulting that I couldn't watch it anymore...

Fortunately, the TV on which it was being played soon switched to Wheel of Fortune.
