Contacts

I went and picked up my contacts today. I got a sample pair of Ciba's Night and Day based on some comments on an article on Slashdot on Lasik. The appeal of changing lenses once a month is high, so I'm starting with these.

Since these were my first contacts, they spent some time with me just getting them in and out. It took me twenty minutes to get them in. Apparently, that's good, as they told me stories of a girl whose first time took two hours. If I were wearing dailies, I'm sure I'd catch on quickly. Monthlies, who knows?

It's weird getting used to them. One time I wanted to look closely at something, so I instinctively looked up, which before would be looking over my glasses. None of that now.

Some gratuitous pictures of me with and without glasses. (That isn't actually with contacts, though; these pictures were taken a while back.)
