For who I am

Scoble's wife Maryam posts ten reasons to marry a geek. I'm not really sure what to make of it.

Half of them are variations of “he can fix your computer”/“he can hook up a stereo”. I mean, granted she uses Windows and might therefore need the help, but I'm not sure that's the basis for a relationship.

He can fix your friends' computers? I see exploitation.

He'll be socially inept so you'll feel better? There's some kind of psychological problem there. Should you really be boosting your ego based on how much better you are than your partner in things?

In fact, the only halfway-reasonable one I can see is maybe #8. The rest are creeping me out.

[Edit: JCW has a nice reply.]

They say to not be offended by the top ten list, to utilitze your sense of humor, but I simply didn't find it funny. I'm willing to wager that most "geeks" wouldn't either... On another note, JCW's reply was brilliant - love it and I love my geeks.. for the proper reasons. :)
